The IIAS offers workshops that are interactive, hands-on sessions focused on machinery problem-solving, ideation, and collaborative learning, where participants shall choose problems of their choice and contribute to the workshop objective.
The IIAS training division is currently offering the parametric design workshop for fresh engineers and practising engineers. This workshop is intended to introduce configuration design fundamentals and the designer's intents in the parametric 3D modelling, sheet metal modelling, surface modelling, 2D drawing creation, assembly constraints, design analysis and design optimisation stages of the design. It attempts to address the requirements of mechanical, automobile, aeronautical and aerospace engineers.
The IIAS training division is currently offering the mechanism design workshop for fresh engineers and practising engineers. This workshop is intended to introduce mechanism design and analysis fundamentals and the designer's intents in the creating and simulating moving parts, defining joints, forces and contacts in assemblies, simulating and reviewing the results. It attempts to address the requirements of mechanical, automobile, aeronautical and aerospace engineers.
The IIAS training division is currently offering the structural design workshop for fresh engineers and practising engineers. This workshop is intended to introduce structural design and analysis fundamentals and the designer's intents in the creating and simulating the flexible parts, defining BCs, materials, forces and contacts in components, simulating and reviewing the results. It attempts to address the requirements of mechanical, automobile, aeronautical and aerospace engineers.
The IIAS training division is currently offering the workshop on Automotive NVH Analysis for practising engineers and researchers. The workshop will take place from Feburary 02, 2026, to Feburary 28, 2026, with online sessions from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM during the working days, and offline sessions for hands-on exercises during the last three days of the workshop. This workshop is designed to fulfil the threefold requirements of the industry:
1. Provide the theoretical, computational, and testing foundations and standard procedures.
2. Discuss the current practices on motor vehicles by analysing the real-world case studies, and provide an insight into concurrent practices through reviewing few related research articles.
3. Enable the capabalities to perform NVH analysis through conducting the hands-on exercises that were demonstrated in the online sessions, make familiarize the tools and instruments, and actualy conduct the NVH analysis on vehicles and engines in field trials.
List of demonstrations: Mode shapes and natural frequencies, Tuning of undamped and damped SDOF parameters in spring-mass and pendulum; Vibration resonance: Tuning forks, cantilevers and pendulums; TDOF spring-mass and pendulum; Multidegree and continuous systems, Acoustic resonance: open, closed and heated tubes, Helmholtz and musical instruments; Standing waves: In a tube, a chain and a beam; Travelling waves: In spring, wave machine, pendulum; Forced vibration and acoustic set-up; Pohl pendulum; Beats; Mechanism of excitation: Direct-exited, Self-exited and Parametrically-exited vibrations; Non-linear and chaotic vibrations; Coupled oscillators: Wilberforce Pendulum; Vibration absorber and Noise isolator;
The IIAS training division is offering a one-day on-line workshop for working professionals on emerging areas. The major thrust is to introduce all the important techniques that are emerging in the areas of Engineering Design, Machinery Vibrations, Machinery Acoustics, Vehicle Dynamics, GNC, CBM, PHM, and IVHM for practising engineers and researchers. The workshop schedule will be announced soon, and brochures will be posted on the IIAS website.
The IIAS training division is currently offering the workshop on Engineering Design for practising engineers and researchers. It attempts to introduce all the aspects of the design engineering domain in a day session. The workshop will be held on December 21, 2025, from 10 AM to 5 PM, with breaks. The workshop is intended to give an overview of all the dimensions of engineering design, and participants can adopt the methods effectively in their work.
